Coyote Hills Family Biking
Coyote Hills Regional Park is my family’s favorite park to bike in Fremont. There are dirt and paved trails, flat and hilly trails which is great for beginner and more intermediate cyclists.

Family Camping at Big River Campground - Jackson Demonstration State Forest
Big River Campground in the Jackson Demonstration State Forest is probably an overlooked campground and I can see why it might be. Our family tends to be spur of the moment road-trippers so we rarely make camping reservations, yet we are able to camp ALL the time. We find places like Big River Campground and which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Family Backpacking: Bear Lake in the Emigrant Wilderness
Bear Lake sits in the Emigrant Wilderness near Pinecrest, California at about 7,500 ft. Bear Lake is 3.5-4.5 miles to Crabtree Trail-head so it makes it a perfect location to take a family backpacking. The lake provides lots of opportunities to swim, fish and the granite rocks provide giant slides for kids to enjoy, not to mention breathtaking sunsets.
