Interested in working in the outdoors, with children, aquatics or public safety?
The East Bay Regional Parks District has two great opportunities for youth, ages 15-24 in
January and February 2016. I have often enjoyed interpretive student aids in their ability to engage my children with animals and the outdoors.
As a mother, I would love for my children to have a job opportunity in their surrounding East Bay parks that they truly enjoy. Working in local parks provides a sense of love for the community and a desire to have a newer generation care for their surroundings.
The types of positions that the EBRPD youth fair will provide are:
- Academic Intern and Field Intern
- Interpretive Student Aide and Public Safety Student Aide
- Lifeguard, Recreation Leader, Seasonal Gate Attendant and Student Laborer
Not only are these positions geared towards students but the job fair will provide fast paced workshops on how to fill out job applications, how to interview and learn customer service skills.
Growing up, I didn't know there were careers paths in the outdoors and I would have loved to have the opportunity as a student to explore this type of job. If you are a between the ages of 15-24 (or a parent of a student) I would highly recommend visiting one (or both!) of these two youth job fairs in the next upcoming weeks.
